Hillsong - At the Cross - With Subtitles/Lyrics

This is not a new song, but one that I have loved and continue to be drawn to. It reminds me that the One who searches and knows me is also the One who loves me.

Probably not unlike most, I have not known unconditional love in many places. There are some relationships that I struggle with even today because I feel that I have to be a certain way to receive love or approval. Some I continue to seek, knowing that I will never really be accepted for me. The relationship is based more on what I do or appearances rather than who I am.

Since this is what I have always known, I think that life over the past few years has been difficult for me to deal with. I have failed. My body has failed. I am not what I thought I would be. I'm not what others thought I would be. And I am angry that I am still surprised by this when I feel it.

What amazes me is that God knows all of this, and He still loves me through every season. Because of what Jesus has done, it doesn't matter that I fall desperately short. He sacrificed His life knowing how much I would mess up and how much I would need Him. Today, I don't feel like enough, but I am enough for Him and He is more than enough for me.

Romans 8:38-39
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." (NLT)

I'm in tears along with Mandi. Jenn, you are a precious soul and have the most beautiful heart. It would not matter to me if you were barefoot, wearing a flour sack or hadn't combed your hair in days: I would love you then as I do now.
Our world would be bereft if you were not in it; please, never forget that.

I also recognize that we all feel like this at times. We feel overcome with physical, emotional and spiritual weakness. But, it is then that we are especially strong, because God will generously give us His own strength. Love you ...

Thank you for opening your heart and sharing your struggle, Jenn ... and the truth you've discovered in the midst of it. You bless us all when you speak from such an honest place.
