Happy Father's Day to all of the amazing dads out there!

Here's a picture of my favorite dad!

My kids are so incredibly blessed to have a father who loves God and his family. He is very involved at home, and does more than his share. He is kind and generous, and is a great example of hard work and committment. He has integrity and shows respect to those around him. He is also soft-hearted and affectionate, and not afraid to talk about things openly. Along with all of these great things, he loves fun and adventure, which keeps things interesting at our house.

When I married Chris, I knew he would be a great husband, and hoped he would be a great dad too. He has exceeded my expectations, and I am so thankful for him!

Happy Father's Day!

Although I am very uncomfortable and tired, I am trying to enjoy these last couple of weeks with my boys before our new addition arrives. Here are some pictures that we took on the walking path by our house:

Cousins

A couple of weekends ago, my cousin came to visit. Josiah has so much fun with her, and we always miss her when she leaves! Here are a couple of pictures:

Last weekend, my sister and her family came to visit. I took a few pictures of the boys because they were so sweet together!

On Saturday, we went to a kids indoor park and they went on a couple of rides with their dads. Here are they waiting to get on the airplanes:

There is less than a year in age between them, and I found that they enjoyed each other more this time than any other. Wesley is talking a lot now, and he walks around and says hi to everyone...a lot! He yelled, "Hi, Siah," so many times, and Josiah thought it was funny. He's still talking about it!

It is always hard to say good-bye when family leave because we're never quite sure when we'll see them again. And I'm sure weekends away are only about to get harder as our family becomes four in another three months. I just hope that these guys can be half as close as I am to my special cousin, despite the distance!

This week we said good-bye to my grandmother (the very last grandparent on my side of the family). We traveled to NS to be with family and remember some of the good times. She was just a few months shy of her 90th birthday. Although she will be missed, I know that we are at peace because she is no longer suffering and has finally gone to her perfect home. I couldn't help remember some of the last words I heard my grandfather say when he left us fifteen years ago. He looked very excited and said that he was going home to be with Jesus. Now, she is there too. It is sad for us here, but I am happy when I think about her now.

"A lady of forty-seven who had been married twenty-seven years and has six children knows what love really is and once described it for me like this: 'Love is what you've been through with somebody.'"
James Thurber

When I got married, I couldn't imagine ever being able to love Chris more than I did on our wedding day. When I gave birth to Josiah, I couldn't imagine loving him more than I did the first moment I saw him and held him....

...but I do because of everything we have been through together. Here's to my two favorite guys. Love you both!

Spring

Look how strong Josiah is getting! He can sit fairly good now, and he is ready for a backpack carrier, which we are so happy about.

Here he is going for his first walk in it. He did really well. It seems that he enjoys looking out- what a view! Although, Chris could have used a rain hat to shield him from the puke- we'll have to remember to not take him out right after he eats next time...yuck!

We love to be outside, and are looking forward to spring/summer. Maybe it is almost here...
