Just a quick update to let you all know that Josiah has slept through the past several nights! I took him to our doctor, who said that he has a case of acid reflux (which he's had since birth, but we though it had gone away).  So we are temporarily treating him and it seems to be working. No more difficulty going to sleep, crying in the night, or random puking.

We also had to ween him from all bottles/milk at the same time (he actually ate half of a nipple, which is an obvious choking hazard!).  I had been worried about him getting enough milk, and have been wondering if he has a sensitivity to dairy; however, our doctor also said that babies/kids don't need any milk of any kind after 12 months.  So we'll see how all of this goes!

Thanks to all of you who had been praying for us.
We are feeling much better now than last week.

So did your doctor have suggestions as to how to get calcium into him?
Poor little guy, I've got heartburn bad enough, I can't imagine being that little and having acid reflux. Glad the treatment is working!

Barb- Yes, we are starting to function normally again and it does make a huge difference!

Jobina- Sorry to hear about the heartburn- how miserable for you to have in these last few weeks of pregnancy!
We are still using a bit of goat's milk for now, as he seems to be able to tolerate this; although our Dr. did suggest that it is not really necessary with a balanced diet. The calcium rich foods suggested were sesame seeds/paste, beans, fish, pasta, broc, parsley, cabbage, figs, oranges, and apricots. Josiah eats all of these, so hopefully he is getting enough. Of course, when he can eat more nuts, that will help too!

That's awesome that he'll eat those foods, it'll make going off milk that much easier. Food allergies plus a really picky eater would just be a nightmare!
