Favorite Things...

Josiah had this football onesie when he was just a newborn (pic above is when he was only 1 week old), and it fit him perfectly. It was one that his Aunt Andrea and Uncle Dan picked up for him before he was even born. We loved it, especially Chris. Every time it was clean, it was on him. We were very sad when he outgrew it. But a couple of weeks before Christmas, I was at Frenchy's , and guess what I found? The exact same onesie, only in a bigger size! We are so happy to have it back again! As you can see, he has done a great job of filling out the little chair he is sitting in too- I can't believe how much our little guy has grown (a whole head taller!) and changed in just a few short weeks!

Josiah's First Christmas

We had a wonderful first Christmas with Josiah. Throughout the holiday, we found ourselves so thankful for all of the blessings that God has given to us this year, especially our new little family member! We wanted to share a few pictures with you.

A bath to start off Christmas Eve day, before going out for lunch with the Mealeys.

Christmas Eve service at our church- everybody was very tired!

Christmas Morning:
Josiah loved his toys! It is really the first time in his life that he has cared about toys for extended periods of time, which was very exciting for us to watch. He loved grabbing onto them and pulling them into his mouth- this new skill has changed things a bit at our house this week!

Christmas day was just too much to handle, so we needed a break...

...Before we started in on more presents!

Great Aunt Nancy knit some cute things!
Then another super long nap!

Chris surprised me with my very own Kitchen Aid on Christmas morning- best gift ever! So while Josiah slept, I played with my new toy!
The best thing about big families is getting to do Christmas more than once. On the 27th, we headed to NS to have Christmas with family, and had a fun gathering with extended family so Josiah could meet them. Despite telling both of our families not to spoil Josiah, they totally did! Besides all of the cute toys in the pictures, he got some adorable new outfits (which he will be modelling in future posts!).

That Aunt Andrea is just sooo funny!

(Notice the cute Christmas bib from Aunt Tami!)

Cool new hat!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Both Grammies!

Josiah LOVES his grammies! And for the first time in his life,
he got to have both of them in the same room at the same time. He was quite thrilled!

Christmas 'Performance'

Baby Jesus
Josiah had his first acting role as baby Jesus in a song at church. Before we went on stage, he was grunting, sucking on my shirt, and then he puked all down my sleeve (you can see the splotches). I was very worried that he may have a melt down on stage! But as soon as we got out there, he fell into the role perfectly. He just stared around at everyone, and remained peaceful for the entire performance. Look out Uncle Scott! You may have some young competition! (Sorry for the poor quality picture! The lighting was really tricky in the sanctuary. If anyone got a better picture than we did, we'd love to have a copy!)

Oops

So, as many of you know, I love to shop at Frenchy's. For those of you westerners reading, Frenchy's is an amazing seconds store that has great brands, and even better prices. Some of the clothes have never even been worn (nothing like the clothing section at the MCC thrift store!). The outfit below, including Children's place sweater, Old Navy onesie (underneath), and baby Levi jeans, costed under $4.00 including tax. This is very exciting, since Josiah is rapidly outgrowing his clothes!

One of the things we just can't get enough of right now is PJs. Josiah outgrew about 6 pairs of his PJ's all in one week. I had a couple of 6-9 month ones for him to grow into, but that is not enough to keep us in business, especially with the way he spits up! So I headed off to Frenchy's (a little sleep deprived from a rough night before) to buy some PJs. They had only one pair of boys PJs in his size (I almost bought pink ones- we were that desperate- but I knew that Chris wouldn't allow it!), and although the slogan was a little dicy, I was on a mission, and needed at least one new pair. These are them:

LOCK UP YOUR DAUGHTERS

A little rough, but we needed sleepwear! Anyways, so I brought them home, washed them twice, and decided he should wear them to bed that night. As I was putting them on him, I noticed something on the leg that I hadn't at the store. Obviously I was very tired, and should not have been let out of the house, but it made me laugh a lot!

Our poor little guy will be wearing these until I find some more that fit, and until then, I hope we don't have any late night trips to the emergency room. These probably do not scream of great parenting- oh well!

Growing

This week when we were bathing Josiah, we put his robe on, and were shocked to find out that it is small...way too small! The first picture is when he is just a couple of weeks old, and although the robe is riding up, you can tell that there is a ton of extra fabric, and it came to the tops of his knees. Now, it just sits at the top of his diaper. Guess it's time to pack that away!

New PJs

It is always sad for us when Josiah grows out of something that we love to wear on him, like his really adorable dinosaur PJ's. But, it is fun when he grows into something that I can't wait to see him in, like these cute new PJ's. Someone gave these to us when he was born, and I can't believe he is wearing them. They looked so huge just a couple of months ago!
